Take a Guided Tour to Blarney Castle which is a medieval stronghold in Blarney, near Cork in the South of Ireland.  Though earlier fortifications were built on the same spot, the current keep was built by the MacCarthy of Muskerry dynasty, a cadet branch of the Kings of Desmond, and dates from 1446. The famous Blarney Stone is among the machicolations of the castle.

One might expect Charleville Castle to be in Charleville in County Cork but it’s actually nearly 100 miles away in county Offaly near the town of Tullamore. It’s a Gothic Style Castle but on approach, many visitors get reminded of “Little Tin Soldiers”.

New Grange is well worth getting your chauffeur to bring you there on your guided tour. As you wait in the darkness of the Newgrange passage tomb, on the same spot where an ancient people stood more than 5,000 years ago, the first rays of the winter solstice sun glide into light up the ancient burial chamber. 

On your guided tour your driver can bring you to The Rock of Cashel which is also known as Saint Patrick’s Rock and it is reputed that Saint Patrick converted King Aenghus to Christianity here in the 5th Century.
